What exactly are these Storybook Movies?
These lovely movies were made by Shirley in 1961. They are wonderful productions of some of the most famous stories of all time, and each one is hosted by Shirley Temple. They are owned by Shirley herself and come from her private movie library. Shirley now wants to make them available to her fans. This is the first time that they have been seen since their original release. They were made in a more innocent time when family entertainment was highly valued. They make the perfect gift for children and adult fans of Shirley alike.

Are these Shirley reading stories?
No, not at all. These are beautifully produced one-hour programs, each starring Shirley Temple and other famous actors of the day. It is called the Storybook Collection because each movie was derived from a beloved family story written by the most famous authors of all time. Each movie also has wonderful and charming original music.

Are these DVDs in Color?
Yes. All of the Storybook Classics were shot in vibrant color. And even though Shirley’s first films from 1932 on The Early Years DVD were originally shot in black and white, they have been restored and put into beautiful color for the first time. Your children or grandchildren will love them.

Are these DVDs Closed Captioned?
Yes, each DVD in this Shirley Temple collection is Closed Captioned.

What is the Early Years DVD that I can get for Free?
The Early Years is a compilation of the first films that Shirley ever made – the ones that launched her to Stardom. They were a series of short films made in 1932 when Shirley was only 3 years old. She is at her most adorable in them. For the first time, they have been expertly restored and are in full color – a real treat for every Shirley Temple fan.

Does this Collection contain Shirley’s movies from 20th Century Fox?
These are not Shirley’s traditional movies from Fox. However, those movies (Heidi, Curly Top, Little Miss Broadway, etc.) are availible for purchase on this site. They have been restored and colored beautifully by Legend Films and they look fantastic!

Besides Shirley, who are some of the stars of the Storybook Collection?
Many wonderful actors star in the Storybook classics: Jonathan Winters, Agnes Moorehead, Angela Cartwright, Robert Culp, Nina Foch, Michael Rennie, Imogene Coca, Arthur Treacher, Ray Walston, John Raitt and Martin Landau just to name a few.

Will the Shirley Temple DVDs play in countries other than the USA?
All of the DVDs on our site are formatted as Region 1.  Therefore, if you live outside of North America, you will need a multiregion DVD player in order to watch the DVDs.
